Scars On 45 have been making their way all over the USA over the last few months. After playing Sunset Sessions, a string of radio appearances, and gigs throughout middle America, the Scars crew finally arrived in Austin for their second consecutive SXSW music festival. The band played a handful of shows including the Filter Magazine party and both Chop Shop shows. The crowds were full and pleased with the bands effortless performances. The Republic Tigers took SXSW by storm last week with several outstanding performances in Austin. The band unveiled some brand new songs from their upcoming No Land’s Man EP and from their untitled LP due to be released later this year. Found this guy while getting myself up to speed on the millions of bands playing SXSW this year. The sound of waves at the beginning of this track is an appropriate indication of where it takes you. Think Hot Chip mixed with Yeasayer. Can’t wait to check him out.

The Scars On 45 crew is back in America and by the looks of this video, it seems like they are enjoying themselves quite a bit. After a week of shows in LA and San Diego for Sunset Sessions, Scars are traveling through the mid-west and will land at the South By Southwest music festival in Austin next month.

The Republic Tigers have announced the details for their upcoming EP release entitled, No Land’s Man. It will be available on April 16th as a part of Record Store Day with the digital version dropping on April 19th.

The new EP will include 3 new songs and a remix version of “The Nerve” from the bands 2008 release Keep Color.

The Tigers will also be playing a few shows at SXSW in March and look to wrap up production on their upcoming full length album.

It was about this time last week that the Chop Shop crew was embarking on the adventure that was SXSW 2010. Now we are back to reality, working hard to make up for all the lost time spent partying in Austin. While we were there, we had a showcase and party (if you follow this blog, you might have heard about it). Both went off without a hitch, and were a big success. It got a little cold on the last day but a little weather wasn’t going to bring us down.
